A hand-knotted Persian Kashan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of scarlet, ivory, sapphire, cerulean, black, carnation, gold, wheat, and walnut. The scarlet hued field begins with a floral themed diamond medallion, while enclosed with a floral and foliate wreath, and deep coordinating spandrels. Framing the field is a main black grounded flower and palmette border, as well as carnation meander guard borders, and diamond minor borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
