Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Karaja wool palace sized carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, blue-violet, ivory, rose, olive, clementine, cobalt, and wine. The cranberry hued field features nine rectilinear designed medallions including hooked forms and star shapes, along with partial medallions along the edges. It also features an array of floral filler motifs throughout. Framing the field is a main ivory grounded floral meander border, as well as a pair of S patterned guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
