A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of crimson, sapphire, clementine, ivory, charcoal, and wine. The lozenged crimson hued field begins with a central diamond medallion infilled with a hooked form, and small floral motifs. It also features tree of life motifs, and bands of geometrically shaped symbols including diamonds, stars, and flowers. The lozenge is grounded by a sapphire hue with hooked forms to each corner, as well as coordinating designs, and a leaf and triangle design along the edges. Framing the field is a sawtooth border, and a comb border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a goat hair and wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
