4'10 x 10'8 Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Malayer Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Malayer rug. This rug features a coral-red field densely ornamented with abstract and stylized organic motifs in coffee brown, beige, cream, and teal accents. To the center is a crenelated diamond medallion containing geometric and bird motifs radiating from the center, coordinating with the four corner spandrels. The center field is bound on four sides by a principle border containing repeating floral and abstract motifs, which is flanked by two identical minor borders. The rug is finished with a single-wrapped selvage to both sides and a natural warp fringe to both ends.
