A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, sapphire, ivory, clementine, slate, wine, and black. The cranberry colored field begins with a cruciform shape that is framed with a series of diamond shaped borders including branched flowers, peacocks, florettes, serrated laves, and other geometric symbols. The field is grounded by sapphire colored spandrels each infilled with a medallion, a tree of life, branched elements, and filler motifs. Framing the field is a main ivory grounded boteh designed border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
