An October 1875 engraving on paper by the Illman Brothers for Peterson’s Magazine titled The Reception, part of the Les Modes Parisiennes series of works. The hand-colored piece depicts a grouping of five women in late 19th century formal dress, standing in an interior setting. The piece is presented beneath a black mat in a wooden frame under glass, wired on the verso.

Condition

- to poor; tears to upper left and right corners; vertical crease through center; creasing; toning; chips to corners and edges of frame.
