Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian area rug. This wool is rendered in a purposefully abrashed palette of burnt sienna, cocoa, sapphire and hot pink, with prominent emerald highlights. It features layered hexagonal lozenges over a variegated field if burnt sienna. Populating the lozenges and field are herati-arranged geometric palmettes, flower stalks, saz leaves, rosettes and abstract motifs. The field is framed by three patterned borders, over burnt sienna, sapphire and camel. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with tan warp fringe.
