Item Details
A hand-knotted and embroidered Baluch Mashwani carpet runner. This wool rug features a vertical row of diamond medallions framed in a memling lattice of scarlet over a midnight blue field. The palette is midnight blue, scarlet, burgundy and camel. Enclosing the field are two borders, one featuring a geometric running water pattern at the ends, transitioning to a scroll along the length of the field, the other composed of repeating boxes and diagonal stripes. Selvedges are double overcast; ends finish with scarlet kilim skirts embroidered in camel and blue, with short brown fringe made of camel/goat hair.
