An original oil painting of a young lady by artist Reginald Leslie Grooms (Cincinnati, 1900 – 1989). This portrait painting on board depicts a a young lady with a serious expression and far away look. It is unsigned, but presented in a dark embossed wood frame. It includes a wire to the reverse and is ready to hang. Framed by Zaum Gallerie.
Grooms was a painter, watercolorist, lithographer and teacher. Beginning to paint in water colors at age four, and oils at age eight, Reginald started studying at the Art Academy and went on to receive many prestigious awards. His students include many prominent and listed Cincinnati artists. He later studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Academie Julian in Paris. Grooms works have been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Cincinnati Art Club, the University of Cincinnati, and other numerous locations.
