Hand-Knotted Persian Joshegan Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Joshegan area rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, madder red, wine, emerald, lime green, mint, and ivory and centered with a diamond pendant medallion. The diamond shaped field is densely populated with an allover lattice pattern of diamond shaped floral clusters, along with indigo grounded spandrels. Framing the field are medahil, X and floral meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a rectilinear herati primary border. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
