An original oil painting of a female portrait by artist Reginald Leslie Grooms (Cincinnati, 1900 – 1989). This painting on board depicts a seated young woman in a moment of reflection. It is unsigned, but presented in a layered wood veneer composite frame. It includes a wire to the reverse and is ready to hang.
Grooms was a painter, watercolorist, lithographer and teacher. Beginning to paint in water colors at age four, and oils at age eight, Reginald started studying at the Art Academy and went on to receive many prestigious awards. His students include many prominent and listed Cincinnati artists. He later studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Academie Julian in Paris. Grooms works have been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Cincinnati Art Club, the University of Cincinnati, and other numerous locations.
