Finely Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz Style Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian Tabriz style wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of salmon, indigo, ivory, wheat, cranberry, aqua, powder blue, hunter, rose, gold, and taupe. The intricately detailed salmon colored field begins with a scalloped pendant medallion, while featuring an allover arabesque design of palmettes, blooms, and leafy vine-work accented with scrolled split leaf designs. Enclosing the field are layered powder blue and taupe grounded spandrels infilled with coordinating designs. Framing the field is a main indigo hued stylized herati border with added blossoms throughout, as well as a pair of floral meander guard borders, and meandering minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
