A hand-knotted Caucasian Azarbaijan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of crimson, cornsilk, cobalt, powder blue, apricot, and ivory. The crimson hued field begins with a central rosette medallion, along with latticed floral designs, smaller medallions, and partial repeated designs throughout. Framing the field is a main cornsilk grounded_kochak_ and bracket patterned border, as well as a pair of flower and X guard borders. Finishing this rug are quadruple overcast selvedges and a gray wool warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled ‘Azarbijan’, ‘Hariz’.
