W.J. Feeley Sterling Altar Chalice with Enamel Medallions, Amethysts and Garnets

An antique sterling silver altar chalice by W.J. Feeley Co. of Providence, RI (active 1870-circa 1920). This features applied heart-shaped garnets on the depp cup, and faceted amethysts on the knopped stem. The hexafoil base is decorated with enameled medallions depicting the Sacred Heart, the four Evangelists, and a red Lazerus cross. It is marked ‘sterling’ with a shield maker’s mark, and the approximate weight, inclusive of all materials, is 21.700 ozt.

- fair; some surface wear with markings, scratches, tarnishing and loss to the gold wash.
