A posthumous restrike etching on paper by well-listed German Expressionist artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867 – 1945) titled Mother Holding Child in Her Arms. The work is unsigned and features a Von der Becke blind stamp to the lower right margin. It is presented matted and housed in a wooden frame under acrylic glass.
Käthe Kollwitz was a German Expressionist artist. Born in 1867 in Prussia, Kollwitz studied art in Munich, Germany. Her work focuses on genre subjects, and depictions of lower and middle class life. Her work can be found in collections including The Museum of Modern Art, National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Berlin.
