Vintage Lacquered and Hand-Painted Chinoiserie Cabinet with Hard Stone Appliqués
Item Details
A vintage lacquered and hand-painted chinoiserie cabinet with hard stone appliqués. The wooden, black-lacquered case features applied geisha figures with carved-stone bodies and plastic heads set against hand-painted and gilt-outlined landscapes. It has a rectangular, molded top above three aligned, frieze drawers over two pairs of opposed and paneled doors. Each pair of doors opens to one removable shelf and the façade is fitted with brass handles and painted with stylized, geometric motifs. The cabinet rises on a molded base ending in hoof feet and it is unmarked by the maker.
