This work depicts an landscape with dense foliage transitioning from green to autumnal hues of red and yellow. The painting is rendered with an impressionistic style with a light impasto to the center. The piece is signed to the lower right corner. The painting is presented without glass in a composite frame with gold tone elements along the sight edge. Hanging hardware is present to the verso.

Thomas Willison was born in Brent, Kentucky and received his artistic training in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended the Cincinnati School of Art during the time when local artist Frank Duveneck (1848-1919) taught painting. Willison is best known for this Ohio landscapes and river valley scenes.
