A finely hand-knotted Persian Isfahan wool and silk area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cream, powder blue, wheat, indigo, walnut, and sepia. The cream colored field begins with a round pendant medallion, while featuring an abundance of scrolling vine-work of palmettes, flowers, and lancette leaves. Framing the field is a main wheat grounded stylized herati border, as well as floral meander guard borders, and meandering minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine silk warp fringe to the ends, as well as vinyl bands to the underside. This rug is unlabeled.
