A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Heriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, ivory, sky blue, wheat, hunter, rose, wine, sage, and carnation. The cranberry colored lozenged field begins with an over-sized star pendant medallion, along with rectilinear designed vine-work of flowers, palmettes, and leaves. The lozenge is grounded by an ivory hue, while featuring hunter and carnation colored spandrels, and coordinating floral motifs. Framing the field is main indigo grounded stylized herati border, as well as floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
