Antique George II Oak Chest of Drawers
Item Details
An antique George II oak chest of drawers, mid 18th century. The case features a rectangular, two-board top with molded edges above two aligned over three graduated and dovetailed, long drawers. The drawers are surrounded by cockbeaded case moldings and the fronts are fitted with brass, bail handles and pierced, batwing-shaped plates. Flanking the façade are beaded stiles and the chest rises on a molded base ending in bracket feet. The interior of the middle, long drawer has a label printed ‘C.R. Fenton & Co. Ltd. / Beachy Road, Old Ford, E.3’.

- to fair; scattered scratches, marks, and chips; top with a few light stains; some tarnishing to brass hardware; back of rear, left foot has been replaced and back feet have replaced glue blocks; drawers retain interior lock plates but no key.
