Antique William and Mary Oak Barley-Twist Side Table
Item Details
An antique William and Mary oak barley-twist side table, late 17th century. The pegged, mortise-and-tenon frame retains remnants of an old dark finish and rose-head nails securing the drawer bottom. It features a rectangular, multi-plank top with molded edges overhanging a dovetailed, side-hung frieze drawer. The drawer front is fitted with turned pulls and there is a strip of applied molding along the lower edge. The table rises on block and barley-twist legs joined by conforming stretchers and ending in turned feet.
