An original oil painting on canvas by listed artist Gaylord Sangston Truesdell (1850-1899). This pastoral work, like many of his pieces, depicts a woman guiding sheep through the forest. Near the back of the flock is a black dog, helping in her efforts. The painting is signed to lower right and is presented in a substantial wooden frame with a gilded finish, ornate borders, seamless corners, and a hanging wire present to verso.
