Item Details

A 19th-century salt-glazed stoneware character jug by Stephen Green, Lambeth Pottery. The tan ceramic jug depicts a bust of French leader Napoleon Bonaparte wearing a bicorne hat, embellished with an eagle’s head to the handle. An embossed maker’s mark to the underside reads ‘Stephen Green Lambeth’.

Condition

- some imperfections to piece, including on right cheek and to front of hat; some spots to the verso; minor crack to clay on underside of handle; some discoloration to interior; surface wear, marks and pitting to glaze.
