Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian wool carpet runner. This rug has a tribal-style design and it is rendered in an abrash palette of madder red, ivory, navy, walnut, apricot, and sepia. The madder red hued field begins with a central pendant medallion, while featuring bird, human, floral, and diamond motifs, along with smaller medallions and rectilinear forms. It also has ivory grounded spandrels with coordinating designs, while framed in a main leaf and calyx border. There is also a carnation meander guard border, and a sawtooth minor border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
