Couaillet Frères French Brass Carriage Clock with Rhinestones, circa 1900
Item Details
An antique Couaillet Frères brass carriage clock, circa 1900, France. The clock has a porcelain face with Arabic numerals encircled by rhinestone accents. Scalloped banding appears around the top and bottom of the beveled glass walls, rising on a bracket foot base. Retailed by John Wanamaker (American, 1838-1922) with an impressed mark to the reverse. Also impressed is ‘Couaillet Frères, Made in Paris.’
Armand Couaillet (French, 1865-1954) founded the company in 1890.
