A mixed media painting on canvas created circa 1998. The piece utilizes a combination of oil paints, gesso and lacquer to depict the abstracted portrait of a male subject with dark hair, smiling and looking slightly to one side. The work is signed indiscernibly to the lower right, and inscribed to the verso, appearing to read ‘Alberto Calazans, 1998, Salvador, BD, Brasil’. It is presented without glass in a gold tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
