Hand-Knotted Sino-Persian Floral Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Sino-Persian area rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of sapphire, rose, sage, cranberry, cornflower, lavender, gold, and ivory and centered with a circular pendant medallion infilled with floral motifs. The sapphire field is densely populated with foliage, rosettes, and palmettes and framed with floral meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a resolved floral motif over lavender. It is finished with overcast selvedges and cotton warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled. Please see 18BOS150-154 for a companion piece..
