Item Details
A Ridgways Aesthetic Movement earthenware tureen in the Persia pattern, circa 1883. The pattern displays a hand decorated design of orange flowers on a cream ground accented with iron red trim. The tureen features a fitted, slightly domed lid adorned with a Japonesque, ribbed finial trimmed in gilt, and handles to each side. It is accompanied with an oblong underplate and ladle. The pieces bear the maker’s mark to the underside.
Condition
-to fair: slight losses to iron-red rim enamels and salmon luster on the handle; crazing.
