A bronze plaque with patina by R. J. Moore titled A New Day and dated to 1984. The work depicts a Native American man holding a spear in one hand and preparing to launch a canoe loaded with several packs and items. The water to the right is accented with a blue green patina and there are several dripped wax style formations to the background. The piece is signed, titled, and dated in mold to the lower center. It is also marked ‘1 of a kind’ in mold to the center, which could indicate it was cast using the direct lost-wax technique. The sculpture is presented on a curvilinear wood base with a metal plate to the center with the artist’s name, title, and edition.

- minor surface wear; dust and minor debris throughout; some loss to green patina throughout water to right; discoloration to metal plaque to center.
