A French provincial style crewelwork wing chair by Maxim’s Fine Furniture. The wooden, walnut-stained frame is upholstered in cream fabric with embroidered, multi-colored floral motifs. It features an arched crest above a padded back and a cushioned seat flanked by shaped wings and exposed, downswept arms with scrolled handholds. The chair rises on cabriole legs, centered by a scrolled and beaded skirt, joined by cross-stretchers and ending in scrolled feet. The underside of the seat cushion retains a label reading ’Maxim’s / Fine Furniture / West Newton’.
