An antique William Cummens presentation or “banjo” wall clock featuring a reverse painted scene of the seafaring battle between the Hornet and Peacock. It has a gilt eagle finial at the apex above the face. There are reverse-painted eglisomé panels, the upper one featuring an eagle and shield with elaborate scroll and floral embellishment. The lower reverse-painted panel shows a depiction of the two battling sailing ships Hornet and Peacock.
