Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool accent rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of wine, black, scarlet, ivory, carnation, clementine, saffron, sapphire, stone, and charcoal. The black colored field begins with a diamond shaped medallion ending in arrows, and it has a dense design of tree of life symbols, birds, and rosettes. The field also features wine grounded stepped spandrels, each infilled with rectilinear motifs of flowering vines, a barber pole edged box, and other floral motifs. Framing the field is a main unresolved florette and boteh meander grounded in black, along with a pair of chained guard borders, and a sawtooth minor border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
