A Grand Prix De L’horlogerie 1878 Déposé Breveté French carriage clock. This clock has a brass framed case featuring egg and dart motifs, as well as floral and foliate motifs, while rising on four claw feet. The brass frame houses beveled glass panels along the sides, and front, along with an oval window to the handled top. The white clock face displays both Roman and Arabic numerals, spade tipped hands, and a second dial to the lower portion. The verso of the clock offers winding keys and it is marked ‘Grand Prix De L’horlogerie 1878’, and ‘Déposé Breveté’.
