An antique cross-stitch sampler. This piece features the upper and lower case alphabet, and numerals 0-9 in two horizontal bands across the upper edge. Individual flower and bird motifs surround the Biblical quote ‘Suffer little children to come to me’. This work has no visible signature, and is presented without framing on thin wooden stretchers

- accretion and staining throughout. Multiple holes to backing.
