A hand-knotted Chinese-style wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, ivory, sapphire, saffron, celedon, powder blue, burnt orange, and rose. The crimson colored field begins with a central medallion surrounded by an array of other medallions, cloud band forms, floral and foliate motifs, and other symbolic motifs. Framing the field is a main ivory grounded leaf and blossom border, as well as an S patterned guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
