Item Details
A power-loomed British Persian-style area rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, sage, goldenrod, rose, and ivory and features an all over field pattern of arabesqued foliage ending in flower heads and palmettes. The field is framed by geometric and floral meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a stylized herati motif of flowers and palmettes over ivory. It is finished with serged selvedges, a short kilim skirt, and wool warp fringe. A faded label to the reverse reads ‘Made in England’.
