A bronze cast plaque of Abraham Lincoln after an original 1898 work by American sculpture and artist Charles Calverley (1833-1914). The piece depicts the profile of President Abraham Lincoln and was first cast in 1898 but was based on an earlier 1868 work created in the wake of Lincoln’s assassination in 1865. Calverley created a series of busts of well-noted Americans in the late nineteenth century. The Lincoln bust is from that series. The work is unmarked.
