Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool accent rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, raspberry, slate, carnation, wine, saffron, ochre, and sky blue. The ivory lozenged field features an allover herati design beginning with a central diamond medallion infilled with a rosette. The lozenge is grounded by raspberry hued spandrels each featuring leaf and floral motifs. Framing the field is a main meandering border, as well as an S patterned, and a striped border. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to one end, while the other is bound. It is labeled ‘Iran’.
