Antique Handmade "Pinwheel Star" and "Hunter's Star" Block Quilts
Item Details
A group of two antique handmade quilts in star block patterns. The Hunter’s Star quilt features blocks with repeating ‘X’ shaped stars in a palette of orange, pink, and brown on a blue ground. The blocks are separated by gold and yellow striped sashing and blue cornerstones. It is hand stitched and finished with cream binding and tan fabric backing. The Pinwheel Star quilt features blocks with brown and tan stars with pink fabric borders, blue and white sashing with an overlapping ring pattern to the fabric, and red ‘X’ cornerstones. It is hand stitched and finished with a brown fabric backing. No visible maker’s marks are present to either quilt.

- fair to poor, both show wear with torn and shredded fabric, some repairs, fading and soilage present.
