An 1892 first edition, first impression copy of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle’s first collection of his Sherlock Holmes short stories. It features twelve stories which were originally serialized in The Strand magazine (hence ‘The Strand Library’ to the spine). Published by George Newnes Ltd. of London. It is bound in the original light blue cloth hardcover, with stamped and black and gilt lettering with the street sign left blank on the front illustration, the original floral end papers, and gilded page edges. Includes first edition point of ‘Violet Hunter’ misprinted as ‘Violent Hunter’ on page 317, line 23, see image #14.
