19th Century Meissen Porcelain Tableware
Item Details
A nineteenth century Meissen hand-painted porcelain tea service. Included are two teacups and saucers, a lidded sugar bowl, creamer, and teapot. Each has been decorated with figurative vignettes and diminutive floral sprigs. The pieces are finished with burnished gilt trim and additional gilt accents to handles. The teapot spout is molded in the shape of a dragon’s head. Each of the pieces bear the Meissen blue crossed sword.
Condition
- chip to rim of teapot and one saucer; wear and minor chipping to underside of pieces; minor wear to gilt trim.
- handle on creamer has been repaired
