A vintage Renaissance Revival style dining room table and chairs. This impressive suite features a large oval shaped dining table with a serpentine edge over a wide apron of shell crests and acanthus scroll work. The table rests on a large and ornate central base comprised of four scrolled legs with detailed relief work that mirrors the apron. The table is presented with two captain’s chairs and four side chairs in a complementary design. Each chair has a large carved shell crest to the top rail flanked by ornate scrolling acanthus leaf detailing that extends to each side of the upholstered splat. The chairs stand on four cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees terminating in scrolled feet. The chairs and table have a recently applied grey painted finish throughout. Each chair boasts grey velvet upholstery and a band of brass tack trim to the seat. The set is unmarked.
