Antique Crayon Portrait of a Woman
Item Details
Portrait
An antique crayon portrait of a woman. Crayon portraits were created by adding accents by hand, usually using pastels, watercolors, or charcoal, to accent and bring life to an antique black and white portrait photograph. This piece depicts a woman with bulbous dark hair wearing a black Victorian gown with a high lace collar. The piece is matted in white with embossed floral accents and rounded corners and is presented behind antique hand-rolled glass in a wide wooden frame with a hook for hanging. A tag from Leopold Osbild glass company is attached to the verso.
