A hand-knotted Anatolian-style wool area rug. This charming rug features a large central geometric medallion with a leaf pendant to each end, surrounded by a field of symbolic devices, including amulets for good luck, ewers, scorpions, arrows and earrings. It has an overall palette of ecru, blue-grey, burnt orange, mocha, black and pale tangerine. THe central field is framed by a compound border system of rectilinear elements culminating in a paneled cruciform band in complementary colors. It has double overcast edges and braided wool warp fringe at each end. Unlabeled.
