Antique Gingerbread "Amsterdam" Mantle Clock

An antique gingerbread Amsterdam mantel clock. A parlor style 19th century clock with a golden oak finish on an oak case. The clock has a curved bonnet with a glass front door that features a reverse painted gilded scrollwork design. The door displays an antique white dial with classic black Roman numerals and black metal hands. The dial is surrounded by a brass bezel with a brass center ring and two key arbors. Other features of the clock include an embossed ornate brass pendulum, a time and strike movement and the clock stands on a plinth style base with bracket feet. There are no apparent makers mark but the clock is labeled ‘Amesterdam’ on the verso.

- to fair,discoloration to clock face, nicks and scratches.
