Hand-Knotted Persian Kerman Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Kerman room sized rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, cornflower, turquoise, and café au lait and is centered with a lobed pendant medallion infilled with floral designs. The curvilinear field features an inward facing border of densely patterned floral sprays and arabesqued vines, and is framed by geometric and floral meander guard borders. A stylized Shah Abbasi palmette pattern populates the wide primary border over café au lait. It is finished with overcast selvedges and cotton warp fringe. An attached tag reads ‘100% wool pile, Origin: Iran’.
