Item Details

A finely hand-knotted Sino-Persian silk accent rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of salmon, ivory, powder blue, indigo, sage, rose, and gold. The lozenged salmon colored field begins with an ornately designed lobed medallion with an intricate floral theme throughout, which includes the ivory ground and rose hued spandrels. The field also features a number of palmettes, leaves, and boteh. Framing the field is a main indigo grounded stylized herati border, along with floral meander guard borders, and leaf designed minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine silk warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
