Chinese Hand-Painted Porcelain Gu Shaped Vase

Item Details

A Chinese hand-painted porcelain gu shaped vase decorated with wucai (‘five color’) style glazes. The upper register is decorated with qilin in a colorful garden, the middle features dragons flying among stylized clouds, and the lower register has fish swimming among aquatic plants. The underside is marked with an apocryphal Jiajing reign mark, however, the vase was likely produced during the Republic period (1912-1949) or earlier.
