Item Details
An antique Turkish wool accent rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of sapphire, clementine, ivory, powder blue, saffron, fern, mauve, and walnut. The sapphire hued field begins with a pair of diamond medallions each infilled with a quatrefoil palmette design grounded in clementine. The field also features smaller medallions, eight pointed stars, and an array of rectilinear designed floral motifs. Framing the field is an ivory grounded leaf and calyx border, as well as an S and cruciform patterned guard border, and barber pole minor border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
