Antique Late Federal Cherry One-Piece Corner Cupboard
Item Details
An antique late Federal cherry one-piece corner cupboard, circa 1820-1840. The case features a dentil-molded cornice with canted sides above two sets of paneled doors separated by a strip of mid-molding and ending in a scalloped, front skirt. The upper doors open to a three-shelf interior while the lower doors conceal two shelves, all of which are applied with strips of molding along the back edges. The doors are fitted with brass, H-hinges and ring pulls and the cupboard rises on metal casters.

Condition
- cornice with some repairs to dentil molding and missing one small piece; repair to case where upper hinge of top, right door is mounted; some chips along edges of doors; hinges and pulls replaced; repair to mid-molding at right, canted section; bottom, left door with a small repair near top; feet have been cut down and replaced by later, metal casters; plate molding strips are later; interior of lower, left door and poplar backboards with some minor/former pest damage (worming); other filler/putty repairs, small chips, and imperfections.
